Our vehicles: Mercedes E-Class and V-Class

Two models, both Mercedes-Benz, both owned and looked after by us: a saloon for parties of up to three and a people carrier for four to seven.

A day tour means several hours in a seat, so the car matters more than it does on a twenty-minute airport run. We keep the choice deliberately simple. There is no catalogue of categories to study; you tell us how many are travelling and we send the model that fits, at the price shown for it on each tour page.

Both vehicles belong to the company and only our staff drive them. We would sooner describe them plainly than oversell them, so here is what each one is like over a long day and who tends to prefer which.

Mercedes E-Class

Mercedes E-Class

1-3 passengers

The E-Class is a four-door executive saloon. We offer it for one to three passengers, which leaves the rear bench uncrowded: two sit in the back with the armrest down, and a third either joins them or takes the front seat next to the driver for the view. It rides low, stays quiet at motorway speed and feels settled on mountain bends, which counts on the climb to Ronda or the road into the Sierra de Grazalema.

The boot swallows day bags, coats, a folded pushchair and the shopping you swore you would not do. For a couple, or a parent with two children, it is the natural choice, and it slips into old-town drop-off points more easily than anything bigger.

Good for:

  • Couples and solo travellers
  • Three adults on a long motorway day such as Seville or Córdoba
  • Two adults and one child in a child seat
  • Hourly hire for dinners and meetings

Mercedes V-Class

Mercedes V-Class

4-7 passengers

The V-Class is Mercedes' large people carrier, with a sliding door on each side and a high roof. We seat four to seven passengers in it. Getting in is easy for grandparents and for anyone lifting a toddler into a child seat, and the tall side windows make it the better vehicle for scenery: on the white villages route everybody gets a view, not only whoever claimed the window first.

Space is its other argument. Seven people travel with their daypacks, and a smaller party can bring golf bags, a wheelchair or a pushchair without a puzzle at the boot. Groups of four sometimes ask to squeeze into the saloon; we say no, because three is the comfortable limit over a full day.

Good for:

  • Families and groups of four to seven
  • Travellers with a wheelchair, pushchair or bulky bags
  • Golfers with their clubs
  • Anyone who likes a higher seat and a wider view

Andalusia Private Tours: our vehicles

On board

Every car has air conditioning, and in the V-Class it reaches the rear rows. There is bottled water for everyone. Child seats and boosters cost nothing; we need each child's age, and ideally height or weight, when you book, so that the right seat is fitted before the driver sets off.

We do not list gadgets we cannot promise in every vehicle. If something specific matters to you, a charging cable for a particular phone for example, ask beforehand and you will get a straight answer. The cars are cleaned between services, and nobody smokes in them, driver included.

Andalusia Private Tours: your driver

The person at the wheel

Your driver is a professional chauffeur employed by us, working under the passenger-transport licence that Spanish law requires for private hire with a driver. They know these roads from daily work, since the same team runs our airport transfers. Expect smart dress, punctuality, conversation if you want it and silence if you do not.

What a driver does not do is guide. They will gladly tell you where to eat, which side of the car has the view and when a car park fills up, but the history inside the monuments belongs to the official guide, as the regional rules require.

Luggage, wheelchairs and reduced mobility

A day out needs little luggage, but some guests come straight off a flight or are moving between hotels. Say how many cases you have and we will send the vehicle that takes them.

A folding wheelchair or a walking frame fits in the boot of either model; the passenger travels in a normal seat. Let us know at booking, so the driver can plan drop-off points as close to each entrance as vehicles are allowed and the guide can choose a route with fewer steps. Parties of more than seven travel in two or more vehicles that set off together.

Frequently asked questions

Can we choose between the E-Class and the V-Class?

The number of passengers decides: one to three travel in the E-Class and four to seven in the V-Class. A couple or a party of three who would like the extra room can book the V-Class at its own price. The reverse is not possible, as we do not put four passengers in the saloon.

Are child seats really free?

Yes. Baby seats, child seats and boosters are provided at no charge on any tour or hourly hire. We just need to know in advance, with the ages of the children, because seats are fitted at our base before the car leaves and the driver does not carry spares.

Does the same car stay with us all day?

Yes. One vehicle and one driver are assigned to your group from pick-up to drop-off, so coats, purchases and a change of shoes can stay in the boot while you visit. The car is locked whenever the driver steps away, though passports and valuables are better kept on you.

How much luggage can we bring on a tour?

For a normal day trip, whatever you like within reason: daypacks, jackets, a pushchair. If you are checking out of a hotel and travelling with full suitcases, tell us the number when you book. A V-Class with seven passengers on board has room for hand luggage but not for seven large cases.
