Seville and Málaga are joined by a fast motorway corridor, and from the city the trip takes about two hours and a quarter, roughly 210 km. That makes Seville a realistic day out from Málaga, as long as the morning starts at a sensible hour. We leave around 08:00, reach Seville before the heat of the day, and you begin with the Alcázar while the gardens are still cool, joined by an official guide if you booked one. The Cathedral follows, then lunch and a late-afternoon visit to the Plaza de España before the drive home.

The day is long, so the car matters. A quiet Mercedes, cold water and reclining seats make the journey part of the rest, not the effort. Guests in Torremolinos, Benalmádena and Fuengirola join with a slightly earlier pickup and pay the same price. Travelling with children? Child seats are fitted before we arrive, at no cost, and the driver, who is at your service from first pickup to last drop-off, stops whenever someone needs a break or turns for home when you say so.

Sample schedule

  1. Your driver collects you in Málaga (earlier on the western coast)
  2. Arrival in Seville near the Puerta de Jerez
  3. Real Alcázar and its gardens; your official guide, if booked, meets you at the gate
  4. The Cathedral, with the option to climb the Giralda
  5. Tapas lunch around the Cathedral or in Santa Cruz
  6. Plaza de España and a stroll in the María Luisa Park
  7. Departure from Seville
  8. Home in Málaga after a long, full day

Pickup

Your driver comes to your hotel, apartment or holiday rental anywhere in Málaga, from the historic centre and Soho to Pedregalejo, and along the coast as far as Fuengirola. We aim to leave the city centre at 08:00; hotels in Torremolinos, Benalmádena or Fuengirola get a pickup roughly half an hour sooner. The final time is confirmed once the Alcázar tickets are booked.

The drive

Leaving Málaga on the A-45, we climb to Las Pedrizas and then swing west onto the A-92 by Antequera. The motorway runs past the lagoon of Fuente de Piedra, where flamingos gather in spring, and on through the farmland around Estepa, a town known for its Christmas sweets, and Osuna, with its hilltop collegiate church. It reaches Seville from the east via Alcalá de Guadaíra. Antequera or Estepa are good places for a coffee break if you would like one.

Frequently asked questions

Could we stop at the flamingo lagoon at Fuente de Piedra?

Yes, in season it is a short detour from the A-92. Flamingos are usually there in spring and early summer, depending on how much water the lagoon holds. A stop of 20 to 30 minutes fits within the day if we leave a little earlier.

We want to stay in Seville for dinner. Is that possible?

Yes, by adding hours to the booking, charged like our chauffeur-by-the-hour service. Your driver will wait while you have dinner and then drive you back to Málaga at night. Tell us when booking, so we can plan the driver's rest.

Is it better to go by train from Málaga?

The train reaches Seville in a similar time, but then you still need transport inside the city and have to fit around fixed departures. With the car you are collected at your door, dropped at each sight and brought back whenever the day ends.
