Private White Villages Tour from Málaga
From Málaga to Setenil, Zahara and Grazalema in one day: an early start, about 1 h 45 to the mountains of Cádiz and a loop through three villages.
Seen from Málaga, the Sierra de Cádiz feels remote, and by public transport it practically is: the villages are linked by only a few buses a day. By car it is about 135 km and about 1 h 45 to reach the area, so an early start pays off. In return you see three villages that most visitors to the Costa del Sol never get to, and you are home again by late afternoon.
We begin with Setenil, the easiest of the three to reach from Málaga by way of Olvera, then head west to Zahara, cross the mountains to Grazalema and come home through Ronda. Because the day is a loop, you never drive the same stretch twice until the last part of the main road into Málaga, and the scenery keeps changing from farmland to mountain. Throughout, the driver works to your wishes: an unplanned stop at a viewpoint or an earlier return is never a problem.

Pickup
We pick up across Málaga, from the historic centre to Teatinos and El Palo, and in Torremolinos, Benalmádena and Fuengirola. As this is a long day, we recommend leaving at 08:00, which puts you in Setenil at about 09:45, ahead of the weekend crowds. Your driver confirms the exact time by WhatsApp the evening before.
The drive
We take the A-357 out of Málaga up the Guadalhorce valley and continue beyond Ardales to Campillos, through cereal fields and lagoons. There the A-384 runs west to Olvera, whose castle and church crown a hill visible for miles, and a local road drops down into Setenil. After Zahara, the CA-9104 crosses the Puerto de las Palomas to Grazalema, and the A-372 and A-374 carry you to Ronda, where you join the A-367 for the run home.

Frequently asked questions
Why do you go via Olvera rather than Ronda from Málaga?
Because it turns the day into a loop. Going out through Campillos and Olvera brings you straight to Setenil, and coming home through Grazalema and Ronda means no road is repeated. You also get a good look at Olvera, another white village on a hilltop, from the car.
Is a start later than 08:00 possible from Málaga?
You can, but every half hour later comes off the time in the villages or makes the day longer. With an 08:30 start we usually shorten the free time in Grazalema. If you want a relaxed morning, consider adding an hour at the chauffeur rate.
Isn't it a lot of driving for one day?
From Málaga this is our tour with the most road, around four and a half hours in all, split into stretches of half an hour to just under two hours. The Mercedes is comfortable, the landscape changes constantly and nobody in your group has to drive.
Other private tours

Granada & the Alhambra
Spend a whole day in Granada from the Costa del Sol: a Mercedes and driver kept for your group alone, about three hours in the Alhambra, an official guide should you want one, then lunch and the lanes of the Albaicín before the drive home.

Ronda
A full day in Ronda at your own pace: door to door in a Mercedes with a driver who waits all day, the Puente Nuevo and the old Moorish town on your own or with an optional official guide, then lunch and the cliff-top viewpoints.

Ronda wineries & tapas
Two winery visits in the hills around Ronda, a long tapas lunch in town and a chauffeur who does all the driving, so everyone in the group can taste.
