Private Ronda Tour from Málaga
From Málaga city or the Costa del Sol resorts to Ronda's gorge in about 1 h 25, with your driver on hand all day and an official guide in town if you want one.
From Málaga, Ronda is about 100 km inland, and the drive is part of the day. Instead of the coastal motorway, we head up the Guadalhorce valley through orange and lemon groves, then into the empty hills that lead towards the Sierra de las Nieves. It is the way locals go, and it brings you to the lip of the gorge in roughly an hour and twenty-five minutes. Setting off from Málaga in good time also means reaching the Puente Nuevo before the midday crowds build up.
Staying in the city centre, near the Malagueta beach or in Torremolinos? It makes no difference to the price: pick-up is included anywhere between Málaga and Marbella. Families who need a car seat fitted, couples who would rather linger over lunch on a terrace than watch the clock, friends who want an extra photo stop on the pass: the plan bends to suit whoever is in the car. The driver is yours for the whole day: head home early, stay longer in town or rearrange the stops as you go.
Sample schedule
- Pick-up at your hotel or apartment in Málaga or along the coast

- Two hours on foot, with or without an official guide: bridge, La Ciudad, Arab baths, bullring

- Free time on the Alameda or on the path below the bridge
- The driver collects you and heads back towards the coast
- Drop-off at your door
Pickup
We collect from hotels and apartments in Málaga's historic centre, Soho and the Malagueta, Pedregalejo and El Palo, Teatinos, Torremolinos, Benalmádena and Fuengirola. For a relaxed day we suggest leaving at around 08:30; in summer, 08:00 gets you to the viewpoints before the heat. If your street is pedestrianised, the driver agrees a nearby point with you by WhatsApp the day before.
The drive
We leave Málaga on the A-357 along the Guadalhorce valley, past Cártama and Pizarra, with the Sierra de las Nieves ahead. Near Ardales we turn onto the A-367, a quieter road that winds through El Burgo, a white village at the foot of the mountains, and climbs over the Puerto del Viento before dropping onto the plateau of Ronda. If you want a stretch, the driver can stop for coffee in El Burgo or at a lay-by overlooking the pass. The return can follow the same road or, for a change of scenery, the A-397 down to San Pedro and the coast motorway.

Frequently asked questions
Is it better to go from Málaga to Ronda by public transport or private car?
You can get there by train or bus, but connections are few and you depend on fixed timetables. With a private car you choose when to leave, stop where you like and head home the moment you are tired, and you are dropped at the hotel door.
Can you pick us up in Torremolinos and drop us in central Málaga?
Yes. Pick-up and drop-off can be at different addresses as long as both are between Málaga and Marbella, for example if you are changing hotels or staying in the city for dinner after the tour. Just give us both addresses when you book.
How early should we leave Málaga in summer?
In July and August we suggest 08:00. You arrive around 09:30, while the bridge is still in shade and walking round the town is comfortable. By mid-afternoon you are back in an air-conditioned car, with time left for the beach before evening.
