Private Ronda Tour from Marbella and Puerto Banús
Ronda is only an hour from Marbella, which makes this the easiest version of the tour: a later start, more hours in town and a drive up the winding A-397 through pine forest.
Of all the resorts on the coast, Marbella has the shortest run to Ronda: about 60 km, roughly an hour. That changes the shape of the day. You can leave after breakfast, still have two hours in the old town before lunch, with a guide if you add one, and keep a long afternoon for the things that usually get squeezed out: the descent to the foot of the bridge, a second coffee in the Plaza del Socorro, a browse in the shops of Calle La Bola.
Guests staying in Puerto Banús, on the Golden Mile, in Nueva Andalucía or San Pedro are right next to the start of the mountain road, so the pick-up is quick and the car is climbing within minutes. Golfers often use this tour as a rest day between rounds, and families like the fact that the drive is short enough for children who get restless after an hour in a car. And since the car and driver stay with you all day, you can cut the day short or move the stops around whenever the group decides.

Pickup
We pick up in Marbella town and its old quarter, the Golden Mile, Puerto Banús, Nueva Andalucía, San Pedro de Alcántara and the urbanisations around them, as well as Elviria and Cabopino. A 09:00 departure is ideal; with such a short drive there is no need for an early alarm. In a gated community, send us the gate code or we will meet you at the barrier.
The drive
From San Pedro de Alcántara the A-397 heads straight into the mountains, with the Mediterranean opening up behind you. The road is well surfaced but full of bends, rising through pine and cork oak along the flank of the Sierra de las Nieves until it levels out on the plateau. Your driver knows it well and takes it smoothly. If anyone is prone to travel sickness, sit in the front and say so: there are lay-bys with sea views where we can pull in for a breath of air.

Frequently asked questions
Is the road from Marbella to Ronda safe?
Yes. The A-397 is a good, well-maintained road, but it twists a great deal, which is why many visitors prefer not to drive it themselves after lunch. Our drivers take it every week; we go steadily, without hurrying, and stop if anyone feels unwell.
We are staying in Estepona. Can you collect us?
Estepona is beyond the standard pick-up area, so we quote it separately when you ask. In practice the detour is small, because the A-397 to Ronda begins at San Pedro, between Marbella and Estepona.
Is an hour each way really enough to see Ronda?
Yes, with time to spare. Leaving at 09:00 and returning at around 17:00 gives you six hours in Ronda: two for the old town, guide or no guide, and four for lunch, viewpoints and wandering, which is about as much as most people want.
Other private tours

Granada & the Alhambra
Spend a whole day in Granada from the Costa del Sol: a Mercedes and driver kept for your group alone, about three hours in the Alhambra, an official guide should you want one, then lunch and the lanes of the Albaicín before the drive home.

Ronda wineries & tapas
Two winery visits in the hills around Ronda, a long tapas lunch in town and a chauffeur who does all the driving, so everyone in the group can taste.

Seville
The longest and grandest of our day tours: a private Mercedes to Seville, around three and a half hours across the Real Alcázar and the Cathedral (adding an official guide is up to you), then lunch in Santa Cruz and the Plaza de España.
